John was struggling with housing insecurity and sought NCM for a warm place to stay. His main goal was to secure a job and permanent housing, and he hit the ground running! After just two months of residing at NCM, John successfully secured a new home for himself.
Northside Common Ministries is proud of John’s determination and focus on building a better life for himself. John’s advice to future residents is to “Focus on your goals and don’t get sidetracked.”

Meet Timothy
Timothy sought NCM’s services and shelter after facing housing insecurity. He utilized our safe housing and other hospitality services while searching for a permanent home.
After some time at NCM, Timothy successfully secured housing for himself! Now, he can work toward his larger goal of moving to San Diego, California. Timothy’s advice to future residents is to “Put your feet to the pavement if you are serious about securing a place.”

Meet Anthony
Anthony came to NCM seeking shelter after facing housing instability. With a safe place to sleep, Anthony could focus on working, eating nutritious meals, and staying clean.
In less than two months since his arrival at NCM, Anthony was able to find new employment and housing! Now that he’s back on his feet, he’s searching for a second job to better his financial stability.
Anthony’s advice to future residents is to make the most out of the opportunities you have at Northside Common Ministries. Congratulations on your determination, strength, and new start, Anthony!
Meet Patrick
After losing his home in March, Patrick sought NCM’s shelter and services to help get him back on his feet. Once at NCM, Patrick got to work! He communicated with our staff about his needs and quickly obtained his important documents.
Patrick completed his residentcy at NCM this past August and has plans to get his own home. Patrick’s advice to future NCM residents is to relax and not be overwhelmed by everything that has to be done right away.

Meet Glenn
Glenn sought NCM’s services to focus on finding employment in his field without the stress of being homeless. Northside Common Ministries came at the right time, as Glenn successfully found employment less than three months into his residency. NCM and Goodwill are thrilled to see Glenn’s determination pay off!
Glenn has advice for future NCM residents: “I came in not knowing what my experience would be. A weight was lifted after intake. I had a clean bed, facilities, and great food. The staff was reassuring and encouraging. I would advise future residents to get involved in the programs, volunteer, and take ownership of your life. This facility offers the help to succeed again.”
Meet Howard
This past May, Howard was experiencing homelessness and sought shelter at Northside Common Ministries. His goal was to secure permanent housing and employment.
During his time at NCM, Howard utilized resources and the shelter’s safe environment to save money and get back on his feet. Howard secured permanent housing and employment after being at NCM for four months! He says, “I appreciate the support of staff while staying in the shelter, in particular Resident Assistant Donovan.” Congratulations on your new job and home, Howard!
